Bears prep for the Playoffs with one goal in mind… win title no. 5

The Houston County Bears’ baseball team are prepping for the GHSA AAAAA State Playoffs which begin tomorrow as they look to make a run a potentially win title number five in program history. The Black, Silver, and White had a fantastic regular season going 25-5 overall and 14-1 in region play to capture the region 2-AAAAA title.

The Bears’ offense and defense has been real strong with their offense plating 251 runs (8.37 rpg) and hitting 20 home runs (17 in their last 11 games). Defensively speaking, HoCo has allowed 69 runs (2.3 rapg) and has not allowed more than seven runs in a single game this season with a run differential of +182 (+6.07 rpg). The Black, Silver, and White’ outfield which consists of LF Noah Odom, CF Kendall Jackson, and RF Vick Gann is amongst the fastest outfields possibly nationwide.

The pitching for HoCo has been very strong behind the arms of Will Allen, Max Wilhide, and Tucker Hale. The Bears had 11 games this season where they allowed just five runs total for an average of 0.45 rapg. HoCo will open their 2025 Playoff run against the Apalachee Wildcats out of Winder in Barrow Co, GA who are the 4-seed out of region 8 tomorrow with the ‘if’ game being slated for Thursday.
