Demons pull away to defeat Northside

A defensive slugfest in the first half lead to a late surge by Warner Robins as the Demons pulled away past rival Northside 22–13 Friday night at McConnell-Talbert Stadium.

The Demons struck first when quarterback Chandler Dyson connected with Peyton Zitterman on a third-and-12 touchdown pass. Antavious Hawkins powered in the two-point conversion to make it 8–0 with 7:30 left in the first quarter.

Northside answered late in the half. Travis English broke loose for a 70-yard run, setting himself up for a 1-yard touchdown carry. Aaron Diaz added the extra point, trimming the deficit to 8–7 with 3:37 left before halftime — and that score held at the break.

The second half brought fireworks. Warner Robins opened with an 80-yard drive capped by CJ Gunnings’ 8-yard touchdown run. Pablo Pasqual’s extra point extended the lead to 15–7 with 7:52 in the third.

Northside countered with a 73-yard march, as quarterback JD Garmin found Jayden Wright on a 19-yard touchdown strike. But a high snap on the point-after left the Eagles trailing 15–13 with 4:53 left in the third.

After a missed Warner Robins field goal, the Demons sealed the win with a punishing late drive. Dyson broke free for a 41-yard touchdown run with just 1:26 remaining. Pasqual’s kick put the game out of reach at 22–13.

Warner Robins will host Houston County next week while Northside will have an open week before facing off with Burke County  at home.
