Demons’ season comes to a heartbreaking end; Bears survive

The Warner Robins Demons hosted the St. Pius X Golden Lions earlier tonight in the First Round of the AAAA Playoffs and the result was a Golden Lions’ victory 73-66. The visitors scored the game’s first seven points before the Demons got on the board and the score at the end of quarter one was 16-10 St. Pius. The host started quarter two strong and would be able to tie the game at 19 and would later lead 24-21.

The Golden Lions ended the first half on a 7-4 run and the game was tied at 28 a piece at halftime. Warner Robins scored the first two points of the third quarter but the visitors would start making baskets and get on a run while the Cardinal, Black, and White kept them within striking distance and the score was 48-43 Golden Lions after three.

Warner Robins would be unable to tie or retake the lead as St. Pius built a double digit lead midway through the fourth quarter and would go on to win 73-66. The Demons end 2024-2025 at 18-8 overall and Region 1-AAAA Champions. Elsewhere, the HoCo Bears hosted Loganville and fought for a tough 43-41 victory to advance to the Sweet Sixteen in the AAAAA Playoffs and will travel to play Alexander on Saturday.
