HoCo and Perry dominate; MP knocks off Trinity Christian

The HoCo Bears demolished West Laurens at Freedom Field last night by winning 55-14. The Bears pounced on the Raiders and jumped out to a 28-0 lead by the end of the first quarter which was highlighted by a Ryan Taleb 71 yd rush TD. HoCo QB AJ Hill had four pass TDs in the first half as the Black, Silver, and White led 49-0 at halftime.

West Laurens would win the second half 14-6 which was played with a running clock and the final score would read HoCo 55 Raiders 14. The Bears improve to 3-0 on the season and will travel to play Locust Grove next Friday and speaking of the Wildcats…. they defeated the MLK Lions 28-18 to snap a 26-game losing streak dating back to 2020. West Laurens falls to 0-2 on the season and will travel to play Vidalia next Friday.

The Perry Panthers hosted the Jones Co Greyhounds last night and the Maroon, Gold, and White dominated the Purple, Gold, Black, and White by winning 54-21 to pick up their first win of 2023. The Panthers improve to 1-1 on the season and will travel to take on county rival Veterans next Friday. Jones Co falls to 1-2 on the season and will host Peach Co next Friday.

The Mary Persons Bulldogs traveled to Sharpsburg to play the Trinity Christian Lions and the Gold, Black, and White knocked off the host 23-20 to improve to 2-1 on the season. The Bulldogs will finally play at home next Friday when they host the Haralson Co Rebels. The Lions fall to 1-2 on the season and will have a BYE next week and will return to action on Sept 15 when they open region play at home against Riverdale.
