Lady Bears dominate Northside to complete three game season sweep

The HoCo Lady Bears hosted county and region rival Northside earlier this evening and the result was a Lady Bears’ victory 13-1 in four innings. The Lady Eagles got the scoring started in the top of the first by plating a run and led 1-0.

The Black, Silver, and White answered quickly when senior Jacy Harrelson hit an rbi single to run in Ansleigh Darby to tie the game at 1 a piece. HoCo got the lead and kept it for good when junior Kinley Snider hit an rbi single to run in Jacy Harrelson to put the host out front 2-1 in the last of the first.

The Black, Silver, and White plated three more runs to lead 5-1 going into the top of the second. The Lady Bears plated three runs in the last of the second, two in the last of the third, and three in the last of the fourth capped with a Jacy Harrelson triple to run in Ansleigh Darby to give the host a 13-1 win in 4.

HoCo was led in rbis by Kinley Snider with two followed by Ansleigh Darby, Jacy Harrelson, Abbie Havard, Maddie Grace Wall, Arianna McKenzie, Hayley McElroy, Emma Nauss, and Ariana Pham with one each.

Lady Bears’ senior SP Tess Rollins pitched four innings surrendering one run (unearned) and three hits and struck out five.

Ayanna Washington had the Lady Eagles’ lone rbi of the game. Their SP Kadence Cooley went 3 1/3 innings and surrendered 13 runs (11 earned) on 17 hits and struck out zero.

HoCo had 17 hits and committed one error while Northside had three hits and committed five errors. The Lady Bears improve to 18-3 overall, 8-0 in region play while the Lady Eagles fall to 2-15 overall, 0-11 in region play.

HoCo will host Tift Co in a region doubleheader on Thursday while Northside will host Lee Co in a region doubleheader on Thursday. The Lady Bears outscored the Lady Eagles 54-1 in three games in 2023.
