Panthers begin title defense by handling Baldwin at FVSU

The Perry Panthers began their title defense tonight at Fort Valley State by taking on the Baldwin Braves and the result was a strong Panthers’ victory 37-6. The Maroon, Gold, White scored a TD on the first drive of the game and the PAT made it 7-0 Perry and they would add another TD and PAT to make the score 14-0 Panthers which would be the score at the end of the first quarter.

The Braves had a punt that went through the back of the endzone for a safety to bring the score to 16-0 in favor of the Maroon, Gold, and White. Perry added seven more pts and took a 23-0 lead into halftime. The Braves came out and scored when their QB ran for a 63 yd TD and the two-pt try failed and the score read 23-6 Perry. The Panthers added 14 more pts to end the third quarter up 37-6 to bring in a running clock in quarter four.

The fourth quarter would go scoreless as the Maroon, Gold, and White would win 37-6 to start 2024 off at 1-0. Perry will host Peach Co next Friday while Baldwin opens at 0-1 and will host Northside next Friday.
