The Mary Persons boys basketball team opened their region tournament in the first round on Monday against Pike Co and won 64-54 to qualify for the State Playoffs however, they fell last night to Upson-Lee in the region semifinal 51-28 and they will play rival Jackson in the 3rd place match tonight at 5:30pm.
The Lady Bulldogs defeated Upson-Lee yesterday in the region semifinal by a score of 60-49 to advance to the Region Championship Game against Peach Co tonight at 7pm.
The Region 1-AAAAAA Tournament Semifinals commenced yesterday at Tift Co High School and the HoCo Lady Bears fell to the Tift Co Lady Blue Devils 67-32 and will take on Thomas Co Central in the 3rd place match today at 4pm while the HoCo Bears took on county rival Veterans yesterday and won 54-48 to advance to the Region Championship Game tonight at 8:30pm against Lee Co and the Warhawks will take on Tift Co in the 3rd place match today at 5:30pm.
The Veterans Lady Warhawks took on Thomas Co Central yesterday and won 43-34 to advance to tonight’s Region Championship Game at 7pm against the host Tift Co.
