Warner Robins and HoCo set to face-off for the 26th time tonight

The Warner Robins Demons are set to host county rival HoCo for the 26th time later tonight at McConnell-Talbert Stadium. Last season’s contest took place at Freedom Field for the second year in a row and this game went to the Bears who snapped their 5-game losing skid to the Demons by winning 28-8.

So far this season, The Black, Silver, and White are undefeated at 4-0 on the season with wins over Sumter Co, Perry, West Laurens, and Locust Grove and they are coming off a BYE. HoCo has big aspirations for 2023 with their ferocious offense led by AJ Hill at QB.

The big question that has yet to be answered is can the Bear’s defense stuff the run game? So far it seems to be yes but the only opponent worth mentioning is Perry who HoCo held down to 77 yds rushing back on Week 2.

The Cardinal, Black, and White are 2-2 on the season with a loss to Lee Co, a comeback win over county rival Northside, a blowout loss to a talented Valdosta team and a comeback road region victory over Dutchtown. Warner Robins is somewhat improved from last season but they are young as a team but have the capability of reaching a seventh consecutive state championship game appearance in AAAAA.

Tonight’s match-up is both team’s final non-region game as they will be in region play the second half of the regular season. Here is the results of the previous 25 contests between the Bears and Demons:

10/02/20 Warner Robins 44 HoCo 10
09/17/21 Warner Robins 49 HoCo 9
09/23/22 HoCo 28 Warner Robins 8

Warner Robins leads the series 17-7-1 and the 7-7 draw to open 2004 is to this date HoCo’s only tie they have ever had. For the Bears to be victorious… they need to execute on offense and play sound on defense, slow the Demons down on offense and let their juggernaut offense go to work.

For the Demons to be victorious…. they need to match HoCo’s offense and outscore them and slow down the Black, Silver, and White’s offense some on defense.
