HoCo too much for the Demons in blowout victory

The Warner Robins Demons hosted county rival HoCo earlier tonight and this game was all Bears from the start as the Black, Silver, and White pummeled the Demons 41-7 at the MAC. The game started with HoCo successfully trying an onside kick with the recovery but their initial drive went for a few yards but would stall. A HoCo interception set the visitors up at the Demon 13 yd line.

AJ Hill found Ricky Johnson for the 13 yd TD reception and the PAT made it 7-0 HoCo with 7:19 left in the first. The Black, Silver, and White scored a rush TD by Cale Woodburn and the PAT made it 14-0 Bears which was the score at the end of the first quarter.

The visitors struck again when Hill found Ricky Johnson for a rec TD after #1 broke three tackles and the PAT that was missed was called good and made the score 21-0 HoCo in the second. Gavin Kurpis scored a 2 yd rush TD later in the second quarter and the PAT made it 28-0 HoCo which would be the score going into halftime.

After both teams had back to back punts… AJ Hill found Ricky Johnson for the third time tonight with a 31 yd TD rec on a fourth and 10 situation and after the failed 2-pt try, the score was 34-0 Bears near the midway point of the third and that would be the score going into the fourth quarter which would be a running clock.

On the first play in the fourth, Demons QB Judd Anderson finds Isiah Canion for a 45 yd rec TD that saw Canion show the wheels he has as he beat the HoCo secondary to get Warner Robins on the board and the PAT made it 34-7 HoCo. Bears RB Ryan Taleb added to the scoring as he got a rush TD late in the game and the PAT made it 41-7 in favor of the visitors and that would be the final score.

AJ Hill threw his first pick of the season with about a minute left in the game. HoCo improves to 5-0 on the season and will now start region play next Friday when they host the talented Lee Co Trojans at Freedom Field in a big time region match-up. The Demons fall to 2-3 on the season and will host the Ola Mustangs next Friday.
