The Jones Co Greyhounds hosted winless McDonough in a region battle earlier tonight and the result was a 47-26 Greyhounds’ victory. Up 7-6 after the visitors got on the board with a touchdown, Greyhounds’ Jaivon Solomon would return the kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown and the PAT made the score 14-6 Jones Co but the Warhawks would respond with a touchdown of their own and the PAT made the score 14-13 in favor of the Purple, Gold, and White.
The Greyhounds would score the game’s next 33 points to lead 47-13 that would all be Devin Edmonds touchdown passes with three going to Jaivon Solomon, one going to Daniel Hawk, and one going to JR Clark. McDonough scored the game’s last 13 points as Jones Co would win 47-26 in their homecoming game.
Greyhounds’ QB Devin Edmonds threw six touchdown passes and receiver Jaivon Solomon accounted for four touchdowns in the game. His three touchdown receptions would go for 10 yards, 53 yards, and 13 yards. Jones Co improves to 5-2 overall; 4-2 in region play and will travel to play Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy next Friday.
Elsewhere; the Mary Persons Bulldogs made the trip to Sharpsburg to take on the Trinity Christian Lions in a region contest and the result was a Black, Gold, and White victory 21-14.
Mary Persons led 14-0 at halftime but the host would go on a 14-0 run of their own in the second half to tie the game but the Bulldogs would score the game winning touchdown with 2:38 remaining in the contest when Nic Arnold ran the rock in from three yards out and the PAT made the score 21-14 Mary Persons and that would be the final score of the ballgame.
The Black, Gold, and White improve to 1-5 overall; 1-3 in region play and will travel west again next Thursday to take on LaGrange.
