The Perry Panthers are set to begin their Playoff run this Friday Night at home as they look to inch closer to a second consecutive state title. During the 2024 regular season, the Maroon, Gold, and White went 7-3 overall; 4-1 in region play while taking the region 1-AAAA crown. Perry set a record for points scored in a game in their region opener against New Hampstead when they scored 80 points in an 80-47 high-scoring blowout victory.
The Panthers are averaging 37.8 ppg on offense and are allowing 23.6 ppg on defense for a scoring margin of +14.2 ppg. Their first round opponent at home will be the St. Pius X Golden Lions out of the Atlanta area. The Golden Lions are 7-3 overall; and finished 6-2 in region play to be the 4-seed out of region 5-AAAA. St. Pius is averaging 30.6 ppg on offense and allowing an average of 14.3 ppg on defense for a score differential of +16.3 ppg.
