Demons demolish rival Northside twice

The Warner Robins Demons hosted longtime county rival Northside in the hoops edition of the International City Rivalry and the result was a dominate victory for the host in both games as the girls won 66-31 and the boys won 77-31. The girls’ game was decided from the opening tip as the Demonettes raced out to a 9-0 lead quickly and would lead 20-3 at the end of the first quarter.

Warner Robins continued to pour it on Northside in quarter two to up their lead to 48-10 at halftime. The Cardinal, Black, and White would go on to win 66-31 over the Lady Eagles. Trinitee Thomas led the Demonettes in scoring with 35 points (26 in the first half) followed by Kor’Veanna Slaughter with 11 points, and Chyann Phillips with 10 points.

Northside was led in scoring by Taylor Johnson with 13 points. The Demonettes remain undefeated on the season as they improve to 16-0 overall while the Lady Eagles fall to 7-9 overall.

The boys’ game would be contested in quarter one as both teams went back and forth and the host led 13-10 at the end of the first quarter. The Cardinal, Black, and White would get on a run in the second quarter and would not look back as they would lead 39-16 at halftime. The Demons would continue to pull away in the second half as they would go on to win 77-31.

Warner Robins had five players who scored double-digit points tonight led by Gabe Jacobs with 16 points followed by freshman Cam Schmitz with 13 points, Trey Bradley with 11 points, and both Justin Hill and DJ Strickland with 10 points a piece. Mekei Spencer led the Eagles in scoring with 8 points.

The Demons improve to 9-4 overall and will host county and now region rival Perry next Tuesday Night while Northside falls to .500 (8-8 overall) and will travel to Fort Valley to play Central GA foe Peach Co next Tuesday Night.
