Bears open 2025 with strong victory

The HoCo Bears opened the season at home against the North Oconee Titans in an early season heavyweight battle and the result was a strong Black, Silver, and White victory 7-1. The host plated two runs in inning one starting with Kendall Jackson scoring on a wild pitch and Isaiah Galason scoring on an E2. Galason would hit an rbi single to drive in Ethan Kenney to make the score 3-0 in the second inning.

Vick Gann got in on the scoring with a groundout into fielder’s choice to drive in Kendall Jackson to make the score 4-0 Bears. The following three and a half innings saw a combined one run scored that came from the Titans and the score read 4-1 going into the last of the sixth.

HoCo plated three runs in the bottom of inning six via an Isaiah Galason sac fly, a Vick Gann rbi single, and a Noah Odom rbi single to push the score to 7-1 in favor of the host. The Black, Silver, and White kept North Oconee in check to close out the night with the win. Vick Gann and Isaiah Galason led HoCo in rbis with two a piece followed by Noah Odom with one. Luke Burnett had the Titans’ lone rbi of the contest.

Bears’ SP Will Allen surrendered no runs on one hit, walking two, and recording nine strikeouts in three innings of work (all of his outs were via the K). Tyson Ganas came in to relieve Allen and pitched the remaining four innings and he surrendered one earned run on one hit, walking two, and striking out two in the process.

North Oconee’s three pitchers combined to allow seven earned runs on 10 hits, walking four, and striking out seven. The Bears will host Alexander tomorrow afternoon at 12:30pm while North Oconee will take on Alexander at The Garden tomorrow morning at 10am.
