Bears shutout Alexander

The HoCo Bears continued it’s Round Robin Tournament at home against Alexander earlier this afternoon and got a 4-0 shutout victory. The Black, Silver, and White got the scoring started in the last of the first when Isaiah Galason hit an rbi single to drive in Kendall Jackson to make the score 1-0 and in the bottom of the second, Tyson Ganas scored on a wild pitch to make the score 2-0 Bears.

The Cougars pitched well in the contest as HoCo struggled to generate offense throughout most of the middle innings. Isaiah Galson would once again drive in Kendall Jackson with another rbi single to make the score 3-0 in favor of the host and Ethan Buffone hit an rbi double to drive in Isaiah Galason to push the lead to 4-0.

The Black, Silver, and White’s pitching was stout from start to finish as Alexander could not get hits and HoCo would win 4-0. Isaiah Galason led the way for the Bears with two rbis followed by Ethan Buffone with one. SP Max Wilhide pitched five innings and surrendered no runs on no hits, walking none, and striking out 10 in the process.

Bears’ reliever Weston Ard pitched the final two innings and surrendered no runs on no hits, walking none, and striking out three in the process. Alexander’s two pitchers combined to allow four earned runs on seven hits, walking two, and striking out 10 in the process. The Black, Silver, and White improve to 2-0 on the young season and will take on Central Ga foe Mary Persons later this evening at 5:30pm.

The Cougars fall to 0-4 overall and will prep to play at Cartersville on Tuesday.
