Bulldogs shutout Veterans

The Mary Persons Bulldogs hosted Central Ga foe Veterans earlier tonight and got the victory 3-0. The first three and a half innings went scoreless before MP’s Gavin Barr hit a two-run jack that would drive in himself and Nic Arnold and made the score 2-0 after four. The Black, Gold, and White added one more run in the last of the sixth when Bradley Hendricks hit a sac fly to drive in Gavin Barr to make the score 3-0 Bulldogs.

MP SP Cole Carr pitched four innings and surrendered no runs on three hits, walking two, and striking out five in the process while his reliever Tristan Hunt relief pitched the remaining three innings and surrendered no runs on no hits, walking four, and striking out four in the process.

Warhawks’ SP Tyler Knight pitched four innings and surrendered two runs both earned on five hits, walking two, and striking out two in the process while his reliever Brandon Mercer pitched the remaining two innings and surrendered one run (unearned) on no hits, walking one, and striking out two in the process.

Mary Persons improves to .500 on the season (2-2) and will host Newton tomorrow afternoon while Veterans falls to 3-2 and will travel to play at First Presbyterian Day next Monday.
