HoCo opens PG Showdown with extra innings loss

The HoCo Bears made the trip to Hoover, Alabama to partake in the Perfect Game Showdown and their first matchup was against the Cullman, AL Bearcats and the result was a Cullman victory 7-6 in eight innings. The Black, Silver, and White plated the game’s first four runs before Cullman plated three runs in the last of the fourth and HoCo maintained a slim 4-3 led going into the last of the sixth.

The Bearcats were able to plate three runs in the bottom of inning six to take a 6-4 lead going into the top of the seventh. Down to it’s last out in the first of the seventh, HoCo’s Isaiah Galason hit a game-tying two rbi single to drive in Ethan Kenney and Nathan Worsham to bring the score to 6-6 but the Bears were unable to retake the lead and Cullman ultimately got a walk-off single to win 7-6 in eight.

Galason led the Black, Silver, and White in rbis with two followed by Noah Odom and Vick Gann with one a piece. HoCo drops it’s second consecutive game and sits at 5-2 and will prepare to play again tomorrow at 3pm eastern/2pm central against the Florence, AL Falcons.
