Warhawks down Perry in a high-scoring contest

The Veterans Warhawks hosted county rival Perry in a rematch of last night’s battle at the Panther Pit and the result tonight would be a Red, White, and Blue victory 18-11. The Warhawks would jump out to a 9-3 lead before the visitors plated seven runs to take a 10-9 lead in the top of the fourth and the host would tie the game at 10 in the last of the fourth.

Veterans would end the game on an 8-1 run to pull out the 18-11 victory to split the season series against the Maroon, Gold, and White. Brooks Masters led the Warhawks in rbis with five that included a solo home run in the last of the fourth and the Panthers were led in rbis by Nate Sullivan and Seth Harper with three a piece. Both teams combine for 10 errors tonight.

Veterans improves to 4-4 on the season after snapping a 4-game losing streak and will open region play at home against Thomas Co Central next Tuesday while Perry falls to 1-4 on the season and will host Thomas Co Central tomorrow night at 6pm in a non-region tilt.
