Bears pull away in shutout victory over Florence

The HoCo Bears took on the Florence Falcons out of Alabama earlier this afternoon in the Perfect Game Showdown and the result was a 10-0 Black, Silver, and White shutout victory in six innings to end the losing skid at 2. HoCo would lead 4-0 through 5 1/2 innings of play before plating six runs in the last of inning six.

The Bears scored those six runs via a sac-play, an rbi double, an rbi single, a two-rbi single, and a score on a fielding error to end the game with the 10-0 victory. Kendall Jackson and Logan Elbe led HoCo in rbis with two a piece followed by Isaiah Galason, Vick Gann, Ethan Buffone, Ethan Kenney, and Raymond Byrd with one.

Bears’ SP Max Willhide pitched a gem as he went the distance surrendering no runs on no hits, walking one, and striking out 11 in the process. The Black, Silver, and White improves to 6-2 on the season and will take on Wesleyan Christian Academy out of North Carolina tonight at 7pm eastern/6pm central.
