Panthers come out on top of high-scoring duel against TCC

The Perry Panthers played for the third consecutive night earlier tonight as they hosted the Thomas Co Central Yellowjackets and the result was a high-scoring 15-12 Maroon, Gold, and White victory. TCC jumped out to a 5-0 lead but the Panthers would go on a 6-0 run to take the lead highlighted by Seth Harper’s go-ahead two-rbi single. The Jackets would get on a 5-0 run again to lead 10-6 through two and a half innings of play.

The next inning and a half would see Perry go on a 9-0 run to lead 15-10 through four and would go on to win 15-12. Seth Harper led the Panthers in rbis with three followed by Nate Sullivan and Reid Ginn with two a piece. SP Kam Vandersee struggled in the contest as he would surrender nine runs (eight earned) on three hits, walking six, and striking out two in 2 2/3rds innings of work.

Bryson Register relief pitched the remaining 4 1/3rd innings and surrendered three runs (two earned) on three hits, walking none, and striking out four in the process. Perry improves to 2-4 on the season and will host Luella out of Henry Co next Monday Night while Thomas Co Central falls to 4-4 on the season and will travel back to Houston Co to take on Veterans in their region opener next Tuesday.
