Warhawks snap losing skid; Bulldogs and Royals win big; Demons fall

The Veterans Warhawks traveled to play county rival Northside and picked up the 10-0 region shutout victory in six innings to snap their seven-game region losing streak. The game was highlighted by a Brandon Mercer two-run jack in the top of the fifth. Mercer and Jacob Eaton both led the Red, White, Black, and Blue in rbis with three a piece.

Veterans’ SP Brooks Masters pitched a complete game surrendering no runs on three hits, walking none, and striking out five in the process. The Warhawks improve to 7-11 overall; 3-7 in region play while the Eagles fall to 4-14 overall; 0-10 in region play and these two will square off at Veterans in a region doubleheader on Friday.

Elsewhere, the Mary Persons Bulldogs hosted Sandy Creek in a region battle and the Black, Gold, and White got their largest victory of 2025 by winning 10-0 in six innings behind a six run bottom half of the third inning. Gavin Mitchell, Nic Howard, and Tristan Hunt each led the host in rbis with two a piece.

SP Andrew Snow pitched for five innings surrendering no runs on two hits, walking two, and striking out five while reliever Nic Arnold pitched inning six and surrendered no runs on no hits, walking one, and striking out two in the process. Mary Persons improves to 5-12 overall; 2-5 in region play and will rematch Sandy Creek on the road on Thursday.

Bleckley Co made the trip to Bibb Co to take on the Northeast Raiders earlier this afternoon and the Royals smothered the Raiders by winning 18-3 in five innings. Braegan Cravey led Bleckley in rbis with four with three of those coming via a home run that he hit in the top of the fourth. The Royals improve to 11-7 overall; 10-1 in region play and will travel to play Emanuel Co Institute in their next contest.

Warner Robins traveled to Waycross to take on the Ware Co Gators and lost 10-0 to snap their 5-game win streak. The Demons currently sit at 9-5 overall; 4-3 in region play and will host Ware Co on Friday in a region doubleheader.
