Bulldogs sweep Sandy Creek

The Mary Persons Bulldogs traveled to play the Sandy Creek Fighting Patriots in a region rematch and the result was a dominant Black, Gold, and White victory 12-1 in five innings The visitors plated a run in the first, five in the second, none in the third and fourth innings, and six in the fifth inning. The host got on the board in the last of the fifth but could not plate two more runs to extend the game.

The Bulldogs saw eight of their nine batters in the lineup record an rbi led by Gavin Mitchell with three followed by Cole Carr and Nic Arnold with two a piece, and Brady Christman, Tristan Hunt, Nick Howard, Andrew Snow, and Wiley Smith with one a piece. MP SP Gavin Mitchell pitched for four innings surrendering no runs on two hits, walking one, and striking out three in the process.

Reliever Ayden Horne relief pitched inning five and surrendered one earned run on three hits, walking none, and striking out two in the process. The Bulldogs improve to 6-12 overall; 3-5 in region play and will travel west to play LaGrange tomorrow evening.
