Eagles dominate Sumter Co twice for the sweep

The Northside Eagles hosted the Sumter Co Panthers in a non-region doubleheader earlier today and the result was a Blue, Orange, and White sweep.. winning Game One 18-3 in three innings and winning Game Two 15-0 in four innings. The host pounced on the visitors in the last of the first in Game One by plating 11 runs via an rbi double, a bases rounding hit-by-pitch, two bases rounding walks, an rbi single, a passed ball, an error, a sacrifice fielder’s choice, a two-rbi double, and an rbi single.

Northside plated four runs in inning two to extend it’s lead to 15-0 and Sumter Co plated three runs in the top of the third to cut the gap down to 15-3 to extend the game. The Eagles got those three runs back in the last of the third to win Game One 18-3. Jeremiah Rozier led the Blue, Orange, and White in rbis with four followed by Justin Canceran, Jehibar Vivas, and Addison Dwight with two a piece.

Northside SP Jehibar Vivas pitched for two innings and surrendered no runs on two hits, walking one, and striking out four in the process. Relievers’ Tucker Stillwell and Gavin Franklin combined to relief-pitch inning three and surrendered three earned runs on four hits, walking none, and striking out one.

Game Two would be all Northside once again as they plated four runs in the first, and seven in the second to head into the third inning up 11-0 over the Panthers. The host would go scoreless in the last of the third but would plate four more runs in the last of the fourth to win Game Two 15-0 to sweep Sumter Co.

Leading the way for the Eagles in rbis would be Jeremiah Rozier, Justin Canceran, Caden Nelson, Taylor Hall, and Keisen Williams with two a piece. Pitchers’ Taylor Hall and Kyle Baker each pitched for two innings and they combined to allow no runs on no hits, walking one, and striking out five in the process.

The Blue, Orange, and White improve to 6-16 overall and will return to action next Tuesday at Thomas Co Central to begin their last region series matchup.
