For the Houston County Bears baseball team, the expectations year in and year out is to win county, region, and state and for 2026.. the expectation remains the same. The Black, Silver, and White had a wonderful season in 2025 that saw some of the best pitching that HoCo has had in a few years and a well-balanced offense that was tough to contain.
The Bears magical season unfortunately fell short in the State Final back on May 19 as they would be swept by Newnan to end the season at 33-7. This season.. the Black, Silver, and White will have a different pitching rotation after losing Will Allen, Max Willhide, and Tucker Hale to graduation. Two-thirds of the outfield will be replaced after the speedy Kendall Jackson and Vick Gann also graduated.
The Bears also lost Logan Elble and shortstop Ethan Buffone to graduation as well. HoCo will play another tough schedule that will feature the return of rivals Warner Robins, Perry, and Jones Co to the Black, Silver, and White’s schedule for the first time since 2023. In addition to playing the Demons, Panthers, and Greyhounds in February.. HoCo will also take on North Oconee in a doubleheader and they will bring in Woodstock for a game.
The Black, Silver, and White will not be going to Hoover, Alabama for the first time in four years as they will play in the LaGrange Invitational at the end of the month. March will be the beginning of region play as the Bears will take on Northside, followed by Veterans, Thomas Co Central, and Coffee. HoCo will not return to LakePoint this season and instead will travel to Tallahassee, Florida to take on local schools Lincoln on March 31st and Chiles on April 1st who is loaded with division one prospects.
The Black, Silver, and White will return home to play their final region series against Lee Co and will wrap-up the regular season by playing a home and home against East Georgia power Harlem and rematch Jones Co at home. HoCo will be a young scrappy team in 2026 but they are returning their top batter in infielder Isaiah Galason who led the team in rbis last season.
HoCo will open 2026 at home against county rival Warner Robins next Monday.
