The Warner Robins Demons hosted the Ware Co Gators in the region semifinals and got a gritty 67-55 victory. This boys’ game featured a plethora of runs as the visitors went on an 11-0 run in quarter one to lead by 12 but would end the quarter leading 18-10. Warner Robins at one point trailed 24-18 in the second quarter and would end the first half on a 16-0 run to take a 34-24 lead into halftime.
The Cardinal, Black, and White would continue it’s push in third quarter and led 45-29 before ending the third quarter up 49-34. The fourth quarter is where the Gators got back into the game as they went on a 16-6 run to trail 55-50 before Warner Robins got on the right run at the right time to pull away and put the game to bed to win 67-55 to advance to the Region Final and secure at least one home Playoff game.
Trey Bradley and DJ Strickland both led the Demons in scoring with 16 points a piece while Ware Co was led in scoring by Darius Ward with 22 points followed by Jarvis Wright with 15 points. Warner Robins improves to 17-7 overall and will take on Benedictine Wednesday Night at 8:30pm.
The Warner Robins Demonettes were next up as they took on county and region rival Perry and would once again dominate and win 76-38 to advance to the Region Final and secure at least one Playoff game at home. The Lady Panthers scored the game’s first three points before the host got going and lead 25-9 at the end of the first quarter and 43-18 at halftime.
Warner Robins pushed it’s lead to 66-26 at the end of the third and would win the contest 76-38 to clean sweep Perry and advance to the Region Final. Trinitee Thomas led the Demonettes in scoring with 25 points followed by Kor’veanna Slaughter with 18 points while the Lady Panthers were led by Kampbell Mitchell with nine points.
Warner Robins improves to 24-0 overall and will take on Ware Co in the Region Final Wednesday Night at 7pm while Perry falls to 13-11 overall and will take on Wayne Co in the third place match Wednesday Afternoon at 4pm.
