Demons cruise past Perry into the Playoffs

The Warner Robins Demons hosted county and region rival Perry in the first round of the region tournament and went on to win 74-49 to advance to the region semifinals and qualify for the State Playoffs. Warner Robins jumped out to a double-digit lead in quarter one and led 25-14 going into the second and led 47-26 at halftime.

The host went into a heavy lull throughout most of the third quarter and led 58-37 heading into the final frame. Warner Robins built the lead to 29 in the fourth quarter for their largest lead of the night and would win the contest 74-49 to sweep the Panthers and advance to the Final Four in the region tournament and make the Playoff field.

Gabe Jacobs led the Demons in scoring with 15 points and eclipsed the 1,000 career points plateau. DJ Strickland followed with 11 points and Justin Hill with 10 points. The Maroon, Gold, and White were led in scoring by Josh Weatherspoon with 11 points followed by Juju Carswell with 10 points.

Warner Robins improves to 16-7 overall; 8-3 in the region and will take on Ware Co on Monday Evening at 5:30pm while Perry saw their season end at 4-22 overall; 1-10 in region play.
