HoCo wins scrimmage over Perry

The HoCo Bears hosted county rival Perry earlier tonight in their preseason scrimmage and won 8-2. Bears junior Raymond Byrd led the team in rbis with four followed by senior Vick Gann with two. The game was tied at one a piece through three innings before the Black, Silver, and White plated three in the fourth and four in the fifth to put the game to bed.

HoCo used five pitchers tonight and they were starting pitcher Will Allen, followed by Max Wilhide, Tyson Ganas, Tucker Hale, and Raymond Byrd and they combined for 11 strikeouts, 10 walks, and two earned runs surrendered on one hit. Jackson Thompson had Perry’s lone rbi of the contest.

The Panthers used four pitchers tonight and they were starting pitcher Connor Langdon, followed by Kam Vandersee, Nate Walker, and Finn Hawk and they combined to surrender eight runs (four earned) on six hits, walking six, and striking out eight in the process. HoCo will open the 2025 season at home a week from tomorrow against North Oconee.

Perry will travel to the Coastal Georgia Invitational to open against Effingham Co on February 14th followed by West Forsyth in the nightcap.
