The HoCo Bears played their final regular season home game earlier this evening against the Luella Lions on Senior Night and the result was a Black, Silver, and White victory 12-1 in five innings. HoCo had a slow start as they surrendered a run in the top of the first but they were able to plate two runs in the last of the first to lead 2-1 and would leave the bases loaded in the last of the second to keep the score at 2-1 Bears.
The host would blow the doors open in the last of the third by plating eight runs highlighted by senior Vick Gann’s three-run jack to make the score 9-1 HoCo. In the last of the fifth, senior Ethan Buffone would hit a game-ending no-doubter two run jack to left to give the Black, Silver, and White the 12-1 victory in five innings.
Vick Gann led the way in rbis with four followed by Ethan Buffone with three and Kendall Jackson, Isaiah Galason, Raymond Byrd, and Noah Odom with one a piece. SP and senior Tucker Hale pitched for three innings surrendering one earned run on one hit, walking three, and striking out six while reliever Weston Ard relief-pitched inning’s four and five and surrendered no runs on no hits, walking one, and striking out two in the process.
The Black, Silver, and White improve to 24-5 on the season and will head to Milledgeville to take on Richmond Hill tomorrow night at 7pm at Georgia College and State to wrap-up the regular season. The seniors recognized on the Bears’ team were #1 Kendall Jackson, #2 Ethan Buffone, #6 Logan Elble, #11 Vick Gann, #18 Max Wilhide, #23 Tucker Hale, and #27 Will Allen.
