The Perry Panthers struck early and never looked back Friday night, pulling away in the second half to secure a 28–15 Homecoming victory over the Veterans Warhawks at Herb St. John Stadium.
Perry wasted little time getting on the scoreboard. With 10:11 left in the first quarter, quarterback Reid Ginn connected with wideout Dakari Fedler on a 29-yard touchdown strike, capping a 73-yard, six-play drive to give the Panthers a 7–0 lead.
The Warhawks answered in the second quarter when quarterback Trey Byrd found Kaden Gutierrez from 24 yards out, finishing off a 65-yard drive. Veterans nearly took the lead into halftime, but a missed field goal kept the game knotted at 7–7 heading into the break.
The third quarter belonged to the Panthers. Ginn hooked up with receiver Jahmard Cobb on a 25-yard scoring pass, finishing a nine-play, 57-yard drive for a 14–7 edge. Just before the end of the quarter, Cobb struck again — this time on the ground — powering in from four yards out to push the lead to 21–7.
Perry sealed the win in the fourth when Corrion Daniels broke free on a 19-yard touchdown run with 4:37 remaining, extending the margin to 28–7.

Byrd kept the Warhawks fighting, engineering a 73-yard drive capped by a 27-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Glover. Veterans converted the two-point try, trimming the deficit to 28–15 with just over three minutes left, but the comeback effort fell short as the Panthers closed out the night with the win.
Perry (2-2) will be on the road next week to face East Coweta as a part of a four game road trip plus bye week. Coach Smith’s team will not return to the Panther Pit until October 24th. Veterans (2-2) will face off with Warner Robins at home next week.
