Warhawks down ACE Charter to pick up their tenth win of 2025

The Veterans Warhawks hosted the ACE Charter Gryphons out of Macon earlier this evening and the result was a gritty Red, White, and Blue victory 4-2. The Warhawks got the scoring started in the last of the first when Brandon Mercer hit a sac-fly to drive in Kason Flowers to make the score 1-0.

In the last of the second, the host would pad it’s lead with three rbi singles hit by Ethan Scott, Kason Flowers, and JT Turner in that order and all with two outs on the board to make the score 4-0 after two innings of play. The Gryphons would hit a two-rbi double in the top of the fourth to cut the Red, White, and Blue’s lead in half to 4-2 and that would ultimately be the final score of the contest.

Kason Flowers, JT Turner, Brandon Mercer, and Ethan Scott were each responsible for Veterans’ four rbis in the contest. Warhawks’ SP Brandon Fuller pitched for 3 1/3rd innings and surrendered two earned runs on seven hits, walking one and striking out three while reliever Tyler Knight pitched the remaining 3 2/3rds innings and he surrendered no runs on one hit, walking one, and striking out four.

Veterans improves to 10-11 overall and will carry a four-game winning streak down to Douglas next Tuesday when they take on Coffee in a region battle.
