After competing in Hoover, Bears look to build momentum going into region play

The HoCo Bears baseball team is coming off a four-game stretch up in Hoover, Alabama and after facing elite competition in the Perfect Game Showdown, the Black, Silver, and White is looking to continue to build momentum and grow as a new season begins this week, region play.

The Bears are set to open region play tomorrow against rival Northside but that is up in the air as there is an extremely high chance of rain tomorrow afternoon. The doubleheader scheduled for Friday at Northside has been moved to Wednesday March 6th at The Garden and the solo game would likely get moved to Northside but no update on the status of that game at this time.

Next week, HoCo will take on rival Veterans with game one being at HoCo on Tuesday March 12th and the doubleheader being at Veterans on Friday March 15th. Next will be Thomas Co Central who looks to be an improved team from last season and game one will be at TCC on March 19th and the doubleheader will be at The Garden on Friday March 22nd.

What looks to be the region series that will likely decide who wins the region title will be the Tift Co-HoCo series the final week of March. The Blue Devils gave the Bears a good fight in all three games last season and they will possibly be even tougher this season as they have returned almost everybody off of last season’s team and they are currently ranked #4 in AAAAAA while HoCo is currently ranked #2.

The Black, Silver, and White’s final region series will be the second week of April against Lee Co who in the past has given the Bears a tough battle and the first game will be at The Garden and the doubleheader will be in Leesburg.
