The HoCo Bears hosted the Lee Co Trojans earlier tonight in the region deciding doubleheader and the result was a Black, Silver, and White sweep via a double shutout.. winning Game One 6-0 and winning Game Two 9-0 to reclaim the region title. Game One started out slow as the host was trying to swing for the fences with the high wind blowing out and multiple pop-outs occurred and the score would hold at 0-0 through 3 1/2 innings of play.
In the last of the fourth and with one out on the board, Tyson Ganas would hit a go-ahead two-run jack that would run in himself and Ethan Buffone. Ganas would go yard again in the last of the fifth but this time it would be a three-run jack to make the score 6-0 Bears after five and that would be the final score of Game One which gave the Black, Silver, and White the region title.
Tyson Ganas was responsible for all five of HoCo’s rbis in Game One. SP Will Allen threw a complete game surrendering no runs on two hits, walking two, and striking out eight in the process. Game Two would once again be all Bears as they would win 9-0 and the highlights of the clean-up game would be Logan Elble’s solo jack in the last of the first and Kendall Jackson’s two-run jack in the last of the fourth.
Kendall Jackson, Isaiah Galason, and Tyson Ganas each led the Black, Silver, and White in rbis with two a piece followed by Logan Elble and Raymond Byrd with one a piece in Game Two. SP Max Wilhide pitched for six innings.. surrendering no runs on two hits, walking one, and striking out seven.
Tucker Hale and Ethan Kenney relief-pitched inning seven and they combined to allow no runs on no hits, walking one, and striking out two. HoCo improves to 23-5 overall and finishes region play at 14-1 and the Bears will prepare to welcome the Luella Lions next Tuesday Evening for Senior Night.
