Last night saw Warner Robins, Northside, Veterans, and Perry all in region action with the Panthers being the lone team emerging victorious. The Demons hosted Wayne Co in a region doubleheader and got shutout twice.. losing Game One 11-0 and losing Game Two 16-0 in five innings. The Cardinal, Black, and White currently sit at 10-10 overall; 4-8 in region play.
Northside made the long trip down to Thomasville to take on Thomas Co Central and got shutout twice.. losing Game One 14-0 in five innings and losing Game Two 11-0 in five innings to finish region play winless at 0-15. The Eagles are 7-18 overall and will wrap up their season in Pulaski Co next Wednesday Evening against Hawkinsville.
The Veterans Warhawks hosted Coffee and got swept by losing Game One 13-6 and losing Game Two 12-10. The Red, White, Black, and Blue led 5-3 in Game Two before the Trojans plated five in the top of the fifth to take an 8-5 lead and would lead 12-7 going into the final half-inning of play.
The host made a rally by plating three runs in the bottom of the seventh to trail 12-10 and had the tying run at first but would not get any closer as a groundout ended Game Two. The Warhawks are currently 10-14 overall and they finished region play at 5-10 and will be the 4-seed out of region 2-AAAAA. Veterans will host Mary Persons next Monday Evening.
Perry hosted New Hampstead and won both games 16-6 and 19-0 to clean sweep the region series against the Phoenix to bring their overall record to 7-13 and bring their region record to 4-8. Jackson Thompson combined for five rbis in the contest along with Reid Ginn while Jonathon Kolhman combined for six rbis.
The Panthers will take on county and now region foe Warner Robins on the road next Monday and the winner of this region series will make the State Playoffs while the loser will not.
