Panthers smother Warner Robins in region series opener

The Warner Robins Demons hosted county rival Perry in a critical region series and the result was a strong Maroon, Gold, and White victory 12-1 in five innings. The visitors plated one in the first, none in the second, four in the third, five in the fourth, and two in the fifth.

The highlights for Perry were Seth Harper’s two-rbi single in the top of the third and Nathan Sullivan’s two-rbi double in the top of the fifth inning. Sullivan led the Panthers in rbis with three followed by Janoris Reeves and Seth Harper with two and Jackson Thompson and Brooks Stella with one a piece.

In the last of the fifth, Warner Robins’ Drew White hit an rbi single to drive in Weston Griffin to get the host on the scoreboard. Perry’s two pitchers.. SP Connor Langdon and Nate Walker combined to allow one unearned run on two hits, walking two, and striking out 10 in the process.

The Panthers improve to 8-13 overall; 5-8 in region play while the Demons fall to 10-11 overall; 4-9 in region play. Perry needs one region win to make the Playoffs while Warner Robins needs two wins. The Cardinal, Black, and White’s next matchup will be the must-have region doubleheader at Perry on Thursday while the Panthers’ next matchup will be at home against Peach Co on Wednesday.

The host held Senior Night for it’s two seniors.. #5 Peyton Cooper and #11 Kameron Lester.
