This past Tuesday featured Northside, Bleckley Co, Veterans, Warner Robins, and Perry in region action with the Royals and Panthers picking up region victories. Bleckley hosted ACE Charter and won 13-3 in six innings. Gavin Cole led the way with four rbis that featured a three-rbi triple in the last of the second.
Perry made the trip to Savannah to take on New Hampstead and won 12-2 in six innings. Nate Sullivan led the Maroon, Gold, and White with three rbis. Northside hosted Thomas Co Central and lost 7-3, Veterans made the trip to take on Coffee and lost a hard fought contest 7-5 after leading 5-2 earlier on.
Warner Robins made the trip to Jesup to take on Wayne Co and lost 9-2. Wednesday saw Warner Robins, Northside, Mary Persons, Bleckley Co, Jones Co, and Perry in non-region action with all but Perry getting victories. The Demons hosted Southwest and won 7-1 behind a four-run bottom half of the fourth. Chase Plank and C. Wilder led the host in rbis with two a piece and Plank was the SP and went five innings.. surrendering one earned run on four hits, walking two, and striking out 10.
Northside hosted Howard and would pick up the high-scoring victory 11-10 in eight innings. The Blue, White, and Orange led 8-4 through five innings but the Huskies plated four to tie the game in the top of the sixth and they took a 9-8 lead in the top of the seventh. In the last of the eighth down 10-9.. Northside’s Jeremiah Rozier hit a game-tying rbi double to drive in Elijah Rozier.
Jehibar Vivas would hit a walk-off rbi single to drive in Jeremiah Rozier to give the Eagles the 11-10 victory. Caden Nelson led the host in rbis with three and that all occurred on an inside-the-park home run in the last of the first. Howard committed 10 errors in the contest. Mary Persons made the trip to Roberta to take on Crawford Co and would win 4-0. Cole Carr, Andrew Snow, and Nic Arnold each accounted for the Black, Gold, and White’s three rbis.
Bulldogs’ SP Cole Carr pitched a complete game and surrendered no runs on four hits, walking one, and striking out nine. Mary Persons has won it’s last five games including eight of their last nine. Bleckley Co took on West Laurens and won 3-1 and all three of the Royals’ runs occurred in the last of the fourth.
Jones Co’s home game against Luella got moved to Wednesday and the Greyhounds won 10-0 in five innings. Lance Pettigrew led the way with three rbis and Jonathan Scarbury had a solo jack in the last of the fifth. Perry made the short trip to Fort Valley to take on a strong Peach Co team and lost a high-scoring contest 9-8. The Panthers trailed 9-4 and made a late rally to trail 9-8 and have the tying run at third but would fall short of the comeback. Nate Sullivan again had three rbis in the contest.
Thursday only saw Bleckley Co in action as they rematched ACE Charter on the road and would win 13-0 in five innings. Austin Yourn led the Royals in rbis with four followed by Clayton Beck and Josh Dillard with three a piece. Yourn got all of his rbis with a grand slam in the top of the first.
