Bears set for the LakePoint Tournament with opportunities to grow

The Houston County Bears’ baseball team is coming off a huge region series win over the Tift Co Blue Devils last week and are now set to hit the road and get ready for Phase Four of their 2024 season, the LakePoint Tournament in Emerson, GA north of Atlanta. The Black, Silver, and White will play three games in under 24 hours with an opportunity to grow in each game and get prepped for the upcoming Playoffs towards the end of the month.

The first opponent the Bears will play is the Houston Mustangs out of Germantown, TN tomorrow afternoon at 4pm. The Mustangs are a strong team who has played a potent schedule. The next opponent will be the Cartersville Purple Hurricanes tomorrow evening at 7pm in a battle between two top 40 nationally ranked Georgia teams.

Their final matchup will be Friday morning at 11am against the Locust Grove Wildcats who are not what they have been in the past but are still a dangerous team and they have given HoCo some tough battles in years past. The Bears are currently 17-5 overall heading into this tournament.
