Demons swept by Ola; Eagles fall at home to Mary Persons; Other results

Warner Robins hosted Ola in a doubleheader yesterday & lost 17-2 in game 1 & 9-0 in the game 2 at the Demon Diamond. The Mustangs set the tone quickly in game one by scoring four runs in the top half of the first that included a two-run homer. Ola picked up three runs in the top half of the second & third innings to lead 7-0 & later 10-0 after 2 1/2 innings.

The Demons picked up a two rbi triple to cut the deficit down to eight in the bottom of the third to trail 10-2. The Mustangs picked six more runs in the top half of the fourth to lead 16-2 that included a solo home run & added one more run in the top of the fifth to increase their lead to 15. Warner Robins was unable to score any runs in the bottom half of the fifth & Ola won game 1 17-2 after five.

Game two would see less scoring but the same result… a Mustangs victory. Ola scored two runs in the top half of the first & one run in the top half of the second to lead 3-0. After having their lone scoreless inning of the doubleheader in the 3rd; the Mustangs added a run in in the top half of the fourth to increase their lead to 4-0.

Ola cranked a pair of two-run homers in the top half of the fifth & sixth innings to double their lead to 8-0 & added one more run in the seventh to win game 2 9-0 over the Demons. Warner Robins is currently 2-7 overall; 0-3 in region play while the Mustangs are 7-4 overall; 3-0 in region play.

The Demons’ next game will be @ Locust Grove Monday March 6th at 5:55pm while Ola will travel west of I-75 to play Dutchtown next Monday at 5:55pm.

Elsewhere, Northside hosted Mary Persons that resulted in a Bulldogs victory 13-1 in five. Mary Persons scored two in the first, four in the second, five in the third, two in the fourth, & none in the fifth while the Eagles picked up a run in the bottom half of the third.

Northside fell to 1-6 overall while the Bulldogs improved to 6-3 overall. The Eagles will play next Monday at home against Rutland at 6pm while Mary Persons will host McIntosh tomorrow at 6pm.

This past Monday saw Northside, Warner Robins, Veterans, & Mary Persons all in action resulting in one of these four picking up wins. The Bulldogs hosted the Warhawks & picked up the shutout victory 9-0. The Demons opened region play @ Ola & lost 16-7 while the Eagles traveled to Eastman to play Dodge Co & lost 10-0.

Veterans currently sits at 6-3 overall & will travel to Cochran to play Bleckley Co later today at 5:45pm.
