Greyhounds, Bulldogs, Panthers dominate, Demons win in the rain, Warhawks blown out

The Jones Co Greyhounds had a pivotal region road test at Ola last night and the Purple, Gold, and White avenged last season’s home loss by drubbing the Mustangs 48-17 to improve to 5-2 overall, 3-0 in region play and will host the Dutchtown Bulldogs next Friday in another marquee region matchup.

Ola falls to 4-2 overall; 0-2 in region play and will travel west of I-75 to play Eagle’s Landing next Friday.

The Mary Persons Bulldogs opened region play at home last night against long time rival Jackson and the Black, Gold, and White shutout the Red Devils 49-0 to improve to 6-1 overall; 1-0 in region play. The Bulldogs will be home next Friday against the Peach Co Trojans which will likely decide the region title.

The Red Devils fall to 1-6 overall; 0-1 in region play and will return home next Friday against the Upson-Lee Knights.

The Perry Panthers were home last night against the Griffin Bears and the Maroon, Gold, and White dominated the Bears by winning 41-7. Perry improves to 6-1 overall; 3-0 in region play and will host the Baldwin Braves next Friday while Griffin falls to 1-6 overall; 1-2 in region play and will host the Westside (Macon) Seminoles next Thursday.

The Warner Robins Demons hit the road last night to play the Union Grove Wolverines in the rain and the result was a Demons victory 27-14. The Cardinal, Black, and White improve to 4-3 overall; 3-0 in region play and will have next Friday off and will return to action on Friday October 20th on the road against the Eagle’s Landing Golden Eagles.

The Wolverines fall to 0-7 overall; 0-3 in region play and will host the Locust Grove Wildcats next Friday.

The Veterans Warhawks made their one and only trip outside of Houston County in the regular season when they played the Lee Co Trojans in Leesburg last night and the Trojans obliterated the Red, White, and Blue 55-16. Lee Co improves to 6-1 overall; 2-0 in region play and will have next weekend off and will return to action in two weeks when they travel to the MAC to play Northside.

The Warhawks fall to 3-4 overall; 0-2 in region play and will have next weekend off and will return to play at home in two weeks against the Tift Co Blue Devils in a pivotal game in their push towards the Playoffs.
