Panthers open 2026 by shutting out the Warhawks

Perry opened it’s 2026 season against county rival Veterans last night and soared to a 10-0 shutout victory in six innings. The Panthers controlled the game from the outset by plating five runs in the last of the first led by Jackson Thompson’s two-run jack and Reid Ginn’s two-rbi double. Thompson would add another two-run jack deep to right to push the Maroon, Gold, and White’s lead to 9-0 in the last of the sixth.

Perry would plate one more run to get the 10-0 victory after six innings of play. Jackson Thompson led the way in rbis with four followed closely by Reid Ginn with three. Panthers pitchers’ Ashton Arno, Finn Fawk, and Brody Burch combined to fan 11, allow two hits, and walk two in the process while Veterans pitchers’ Steven Hafeychuck, Jackson Eaton, Brandon Fuller, and Dillon Harris combined to allow 10 runs all earned, on 10 hits, walking five, and striking out five.

The Maroon, Gold, and White committed four errors while the Red, White, and Blue committed three errors. Perry opens at 1-0 and will prepare for a doubleheader against Lassiter and Effingham Co on Friday starting with the Trojans while the Warhawks open at 0-1 and will host county rival Warner Robins tomorrow.
