Perry obliterates Warner Robins, Bears sweep Veterans

The Perry Panthers traveled to play county rival Warner Robins earlier tonight and the Maroon, Gold, and White obliterated the Demons by winning 25-8 in a complete game. Nate O’Rear, Brooks Stella, and Brady Bearden each hit a jack early on to get Perry out to a substantial lead. The visitors could not quite end the game in five innings as the Demons plated enough runs to keep them under 10 runs behind.

Brooks Stella and Brady Bearden led Perry in rbis with four each and the visitors plated seven runs in the first, none in the second, three in the third, six in the fourth, none in the fifth, one in the sixth, and eight in the seventh. Warner Robins plated a run in the first, one in the third, and three in innings four and five. Chase Plank led the Demons in rbs with four.

Perry improves to 12-2 overall; and is scheduled to host Westside (Macon) tomorrow in a region battle while Warner Robins falls to 4-9 overall and will return to region play as well with a doubleheader at Dutchtown scheduled for tomorrow.

Elsewhere, the HoCo Bears made the short trek to play county rival Veterans in a region doubleheader and the Bears swept Veterans by winning 14-4 and 6-1, the Warhawks despite getting three-game swept, did not get run-ruled once in this region series. Eli Stephens combined for six rbis in the doubleheader to lead the Black, Silver, and White. The visitors trailed 3-2 in game one in the top of the fifth where they would plate nine runs to lead 11-3.

Brandon Mercer led the Warhawks in rbis with two in the doubleheader tonight. HoCo improves to 13-3 overall; 6-0 in region play and will look for some improvements after coming out flat in the first two games of the series before blowing the doors open in the second half of game two of three and they will travel to Southwest Georgia to play the Thomas Co Central Yellowjackets next Tuesday.

Veterans falls to 7-6 overall; 1-5 in region play and will travel to Leesburg next Tuesday to take on the Lee Co Trojans.
