Perry takes down Warner Robins; clinches playoff berth

The Perry Panthers picked up a clutch 7–5 win over county and region rival Warner Robins, securing the final playoff spot in Region 1-4A.

Perry came out strong, building an early 4–1 lead. However, Warner Robins battled back, tying the game at 4–4 in the fourth inning thanks to an RBI hit from Drew White. The Demons threatened to take the lead later in the inning with a runner on third, but a sharply turned double play ended the rally in a close play at first base.

The Panthers responded by regaining the lead at 5–4, then added what proved to be the decisive run in the fifth inning with an RBI single from Reid Ginn to make it 6–4. Perry held on down the stretch, finishing with a 7–5 victory.

The win marks Perry’s fourth consecutive region victory and officially clinches their spot in the state playoffs, while eliminating Warner Robins from contention.

Looking ahead, the Panthers will host Peach County in their final regular-season home game on Wednesday before traveling for a region doubleheader against Warner Robins on Thursday.
