The Perry Panthers hosted county rival Warner Robins in a critical region doubleheader yesterday and the result was a Maroon, Gold, and White sweep.. winning Game one 12-10 to win the series and snag the final Playoff spot and winning Game Two 12-2 in five innings. The Demons plated Game One’s first five runs in the top of the first and the host plated five in the last of the first.
Perry took the lead in the last of the third when senior Cullen McDaniel hit a go-ahead two rbi single to drive in Reid Ginn and Carson Turk to make the score 7-5 Panthers. The Maroon, Gold, and White plated five more runs in the last of the fifth to push it’s lead to 12-5.
The Cardinal, Black, and White made a furious rally in the top of the seventh by plating five runs and bringing the go-ahead run to the plate with two outs on the board. Chase Plank would pop out to second to end the game and Perry would win 12-10 to take the region series and make the State Playoffs while eliminating Warner Robins from Playoff contention.
Cullen McDaniel, Nate Sullivan, Brady Preston, Janoris Reeves, and Brooks Stella all led the Panthers in rbis with two a piece. Brandon Massie, Peyton Cooper, and J. Allen each led the Demons in rbis with two a piece. Game Two would be Perry taking care of business as Coach Bryant would put in his younger players and the Panthers would take Game Two 12-2 in five innings. Carson Turk and Cullen McDaniel each led Perry in rbis in Game Two with two a piece.
Perry finishes the regular season at 10-14 overall; 7-8 in region play and will be the 4-seed out of region 1-AAAA and will take on St. Pius X on the road in the First Round of the Playoffs. Warner Robins wraps-up 2025 at 10-13 overall; 4-11 in region play.
It was also Senior Night for the Panthers and they recognized their four seniors.. #9 Jonathon Kohlman, #12 Kam Vandersee, #16 Cullen McDaniel, and #22 Nate Walker.
